After two generations of "all-in-one" instruments (MARS-88 and MARSlite), the latest development from Lennartz features a modular approach.
The M24 system currently consists of the M24 Digitizer and the M24 Compact/LP Portable Network Seismograph.
is a three-channel, 24 bits unit with a serial output interface. The output can be either the standard RS-232 or differential RS422 (suitable to drive much longer cables at higher speeds).
Its 3-channel input is suitable for many types of seismometers. Maximum input voltages range from +- 10 volts down to 78 millivolts. A stabilized +12 V DC power supply for active sensors is present.
The M24 Digitizer is extremely easy and simple to setup. 16 DIP switches control all vital parameters. In addition, setup commands can also be sent to the Digitizer across the serial interface. A wide range of sampling rates (500 Hz down to less than 1 Hz) is available.
The M24 Digitizer is just that, a digitizer. It does not buffer or store data in any way. Data needs to be picked up and stored by an external computer.
